Meet Tim Schumm

I am Timothy Schumm, a Carmel, Indiana-based certified professional photographer experienced in portrait, event, commercial, and family photography.

I enjoy traveling and being outdoors, fitness, technology, and time with my family. Photography, for me, is the combination of these values along with the preservation of beautiful moments in life.

I am comfortable and experienced working in a wide variety of environments and genres. This includes shooting outdoors on location, indoors with both natural and flash/strobe lighting, and in a professional studio setting.

Credentials

I am a proud platinum member of Nikon Professional Services. I was previously a Certified Professional Photographer and a Professional Photographers of America member, and I have offered my photography services as a professional since 2016.

Education

I have a master’s degree in business administration from Butler University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University. I’ve attended classes at the Winona School of Photography and participated in several instructor-led courses to further my photography skills each year.

Ambition

Photography is a passion project converted into a part-time business venture in 2016 that allowed me to work with many wonderful people and businesses in Indianapolis. My full-time work is with Major Tool & Machine, where one of my duties is acting as a resident photographer, videographer, and graphic designer.

Inspiration

At an emotional level, the skill, passion, vision, and detail that goes into creating high-impact images and the joy it gives those I work with are gratifying. The emotions, moments, and stories captured through photography are unlike any other art form, and I strive to make beautiful art.

As of 2022, I have reduced my client count significantly and am enjoying photography for my family and myself.
